Application Support Engineer

As an Application Support Engineer at Prothya you manage the optimal availability and performance of SAP applications, systems and innovations in one and/or multiple countries in line with the formulated IT policy and laws and regulations, so that they meet the wishes and needs of the various departments. The application engineer is a nice starter role to develop yourself in this field. 

 

You will be the core of our business process (eg Laboratories, Manufacturing, Document, and Quality systems). In this role, you will act as the 2nd line Functional support group together with other colleagues in close relation to our IT Service partner providing the Service Desk and the Generic IT support. As our application landscape is constantly evolving, we have always exciting projects and changes that require your support to help implement those. Your main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Follow, analyse and assess suppliers regarding new SAP applications, changes and updates in relation to the wishes and needs within the divisions and departments of Prothya Biosolutions and the internal IT policy. 
  • Providing insight into the SAP processes involved and making an impact analysis, with the aim of drawing up a complete requirement. Defining functional specifications and drawing up a business case. 
  • Designing application and system specifications and documentation. Realizes the tests for SAP-related applications to determine whether applications work in accordance with the established requirements. 
  • Providing software application support on incidents or business requests to clients/users.
  • Establishing the root causes of application errors.
  • Monitoring the applications and performing analyses on software application functionality and suggesting improvements.
  • Ensuring effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications.
  • Consulting with the Infrastructure teams to apply changes with (possible) impact to the applications.
  • Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.
  • Documenting processes according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Processes).
  • Handles user submitted SAP related incidents, Service Requests and User Stories (changes) in the second line within the agreed SLAs.
  • Aligning SAP functionality with other business applications such as LIMS, Trackwise and DocCompliance. Collaborating with fellow architects and product owners of the various applications. Identifies and analyses potential bottlenecks between the applications.
  • Hire, lead, coach and appraise employees, and develop (the cooperation between) employees of the assigned division using the relevant HR instruments, service and procedures.


Requirements

  • Completed education in software engineering or IT.
  • Overall knowledge of Infrastructure, Networking, and various programming languages.
  • Ability to document configuration changes, and monitor performance.
  • Exceptional ability to provide front-end support to internal departments and web-based clients.
  • Ability to keep up with innovation in application design.
  • Both orally and in writing English proficiency is necessary
  • Last but not least; a pro-active team player

SQL LIMS (candidates with specific knowledge of SQL LIMS are welcomed to support to migration project)

QMS: Master Control / Trackwise / DocCompliance (A big role will be played in the MasterControl project)

Other: AFAS/OKTA /TopDesk (Several smaller GMP and non-GMP applications will be supported).
